– For us it is very new. We see new ship details that we’ve never seen before. It is skithäftigt. One of the divers found just a cannonball, says dive master Johan Rönnby, professor of maritime archeology at Södertörn University.
With the diving is a professor Jon Adams, a world leader Researchers at the ship from the Middle Ages, who worked with the salvage of the British Mary Rose, the world’s most famous wreck on the side of the Vasa.
– This is an incredibly important discovery. An amazing well-preserved specimens that links medieval shipbuilding technology with the one first used in the 1300s and 1400s, says Jon Adams after having been down at Gribshunden for hours.
The mapping of the wreck is to conduct a larger study later on.
– The more you look at it, the more you realize how much is left down there and how exciting it is. There is a ship even old with Christopher Columbus Santa Maria, but preserved, says Johan Rönnby.
