Man died after the crash at Vänge – Swedish Radio

A man died and two were taken to hospital after a road accident just outside Vänge. One of the involved cars were wanted by the police after the callers have seen two people who seemed affected drive away with the car.

Two cars crashed at 16 o’clock on Tuesday, on Highway 72, just west of Vänge.

Two people traveling in one car came driving at high speed from Uppsala, and according to the police website to have made reckless overtaking . In the oncoming car was traveling a person.

Police received more than half an hour before a call of a person who states that two persons who seem to be affected, have put themselves in a car and driving from an address in Boländerna. It turns out that it is the same car involved in the accident outside Vänge.

The driver of the car who came from Uppsala Hållet died in the crash, the other two men were transferred by ambulance to the hospital in Uppsala.

According to a press release at the hospital should the men have received minor injuries and their condition must be stable.

The road was closed by under the rescue work and the cars were salvaged from the site. All traffic was stopped and caused the kilometer-long queues. Bus services were also affected by the accident.

Shortly after 17:30 police released on closures and traffic started rolling in slowly again.
