Acute risk of collapse at the new Munksjö city – Sveriges Radio

After several cracks detected on Barnarpsgatan in Jonkoping near the large new building Munksjö city has right lane to the north towards the city turned off.

The crack has been the asphalt again, and heavy traffic are advised to take a different path. The construction company Tolust also invited to make a geotechnical investigation, and meanwhile turning off the lane to remain muted.

– We are serious about this, we are concerned for the entire road construction. It can happen so we have closed a file in the northbound direction, says municipality Lars-Åke Josefsson.

The crack is in the vicinity of the construction of the new office building at Torpa roundabout.

These cracks can have major consequences for the continued construction of Munksjö town.

– We will have a heavier shut from tomorrow and it can last for quite some time. We are worried they will be piling more tomorrow, says Lars-Åke Josefsson and continue.

– We are afraid that if the traffic will go here so it can go away and become another major subsidence, so we have taken a safety precaution now.

P4 Jönköping have searched representatives of Tolust based Munksjö town but they refer to the contractor Gärahovs building where CEO Per Larsson has not been reached and the project manager has the holiday.
