Poor risk track in state companies – Helsingborgs Dagblad

State companies live is not in a sheltered world. They operate in markets with strong competition and in recent years several companies have made risky investments. In several cases, it has had negative consequences for the companies’ finances, brand and reputation – and the value of state assets and dividends from the companies, says the National Audit Office.

As an example, taken Vattenfall criticized foreign investment, TeliaSonera’s investments in Uzbekistan, lawsuit against SAS for conspiracy, Swedfund and Vattenfall investment in natural rubber trees in Liberia and corruption charges against managers in the civil construction company Svevia.
