Thousands of liters of strawberries stolen – Swedish Radio

During the night was stolen a minibus in Vinslöv, and which the notification was loaded with whole 3420 liters of strawberries.

Thousands of gallons of strawberries are on the loose – just in time for midsummer. The theft was discovered only during the morning, and the car is now the found empty.

– 3420 liters times what it costs in the trade and it is well 45 crowns per liter when I was only yesterday, you multiply it, so we end up on a sum of approximately SEK 150 000, excluding the car, says Calle Persson, information officer at Skåne police.

The berries are prized in midsummer, especially in years when there will be a shortage of Swedish strawberries. The cause is a combination of an early midsummer and the cold weather in May and early June.
