Little Prince’s name: Nicolas Paul Gustaf – Aftonbladet

The Little Prince has been named.

Mr Paul Gustafsson is his name.

today received the Swedish people know what the Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s little son should be named. 17.00 held its traditional cabinet meeting, the cabinet meeting hall of the royal palace. Then, at 17:06, he revealed the name to the public before television cameras:

– Princess Madeleine’s son should be named Nicolas Paul Gustaf, said King Carl XVI Gustaf.



Tribute to Grandpa and Grandpa

He gets given name Nicolas – a name that existed in the Bernadotte family before. Among other things, Prince Eugen bore the name – his full name was Eugen Napoleon Nicholas Bernadotte.

Nicolas both middle name, Paul and Gustav, he has inherited from grandfathers.

Chris’s father, who died in 2004, was called Paul O’Neill and was a successful banker. Chris called himself Paul’s middle name.

And Gustaf prince received after the grandfather – King Carl XVI Gustaf.



Little Prince, Duke

The Prince’s full title is His Royal Highness Prince Nicolas Paul Gustaf, Duke of Ångermanland. He is a Swedish citizen and will not get any dual citizenship, according to the Marshal of the Realm Svante Lindqvist.

Stefan Löfven grew up in Ångermanland, and reacted with joy at the news of the Duchy.

– Oh , extra fun! He exclaimed at the cabinet meeting.

Witness the ceremony, in which representatives from the government to witness the baby, took place around 16:30 o’clock in the Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s residence at the Royal Mews, Stockholm. The prince himself slept apparently, and did not notice anything.

– He was not awake, but looked up a little sometimes, said Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke at the press conference.

Prime wife was delighted to get hold of the little prince.

– Yes, it is wonderful to hold in young children, especially this one. It was an honor to get to do it. And he reminds me of his father, especially around the mouth, I think, said Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke.

The Speaker Urban Ahlin also got to meet little Nicolas.

– A fantastic beautiful child, it’s a very sweet boy who is just adorable, he said.

Come and say congratulations on Thursday

During the week continues the traditional ceremonies. Tomorrow at 11.00 held a thanksgiving service, called Te Deum, in the Castle Church. Between 12.00 and 18.00 on Thursday there will be congratulatory lists in the Hall of the Royal Palace. There, diplomats, and the general public to write their congratulations to the Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill.
