Victims may increased protection – Metro

The government’s decision means that the injured party should always be informed if a suspect is released – well informed about how their case yesterday.

– The terms of increased information, especially in situations where the suspect of various Reasons gets released. Plus information about where to turn to for protection and support, says Morgan Johansson (S).

– It is part of the Government’s priorities, particularly focused on those cases where it is about domestic violence relationships.

There is today no obligation to inform victims of the suspect was released on bail before the verdict, a problem which, among other things, women’s shelters have paid attention.

– After they become man victim informed, but before the verdict, the arrest or detention, there is a gap that we want to clog. Then the police and prosecutors who are obliged to provide the information.

The changes take force on 1 November 2015th
