Environment Ranking: Karlstad, Sweden’s fifth best municipality – Swedish Radio

Orebro is best in environmental work in the country, shows a review that the newspaper Miljöaktuellt have done. Karlstad is best Värmland County with a fifth place.

The magazine ranks the seventh time the municipalities, among others based on how they are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the consumption of meat.

Environment Aktuellt examination shows that the municipalities are becoming better at through procurement reducing carbon emissions. At the same time, only every fifth municipality of clear directives on making investments in businesses that have large environmental and climate impact.

– We congratulate the municipality of Karlstad to an honorable place 5 in this year’s ranking . We want the ranking should be an injection of energy in municipal environmental efforts, both by highlighting some examples and by being a blowtorch where needed improvements, says Mikael Salo, executive editor of Environment Current in a press release.
