Criminal gangs scare the town – Aftonbladet

Criminal gangs scare the town – Aftonbladet

class=”abSymbFy”/> A 19-year-old young man is dead. He was shot dead in the residential Skäggetorp in Linköping night to Tuesday. People living in the area described it as a scene. Guns were fired from two directions. Sixteen people have been arrested and university town is in shock.

Deadly shooting was no surprise. Gang wars in the city has been going on for over three years with varying intensity. It’s about two rival gangs, Black Cobra and Berga gang. They control the city’s drug trade and blackmailing. Conflicts between members has repeatedly degenerated into fights, knife cuts and gunfire.

Last summer, the newspaper Corren in Linköping threatened twice by persons associated with criminal gangs. They came into the newsroom and made comments on the newspaper’s publications and demanded that the items would be removed from the site. Correns publisher Charlotta Friborg told in an interview in Gomorron Sweden on SVT on Wednesday that gangs made up of a small core of professional criminals. But they recruit new members among guys who barely reached adolescence.

Idols

One need not have seen Al Pacino in Scarface or listened to the Swedish hip hop group The cartel to the story behind the most as embarking on a criminal path. It is usually the young guys from the bad conditions that grow up without hope for the future and whose role models are older criminals.

Although the recently deceased music producer Christian Falk told in his emotive Summer program on Saturday about his work growing up in a alkishem. Had he not been taken care of a teacher, he is convinced that his life has taken a darker turn.

Positive adult role models can be crucial, because we all have a responsibility. But above all, needed a functioning police force. To just turn out when the crisis is already happening is not enough, the work must begin long before the young boys become criminals.

local police

Next year, all police forces merge into a single one. 500 million will be saved. It is liable to affect the essential preventive work today mainly carried out by local police. In vulnerable areas where confidence in the police force is often low, the local police play a more important role than in other places.

Linköping residents want an end to the criminal-rigging, violence and fighting. But the savings of the local police is no long term solution.
