The Sweden Democrats planned in December to try to recruit more heavy Christian Democrats for the extraordinary elections, according to the minutes Aftonbladet took part. The then deputy party leader Mattias Karlsson and party secretary Björn Söder were two of the participants.
Ebba Busch Thor, now party leader but then Mayor of Uppsala, was one of the names on the list. Others were ex-minister Mats Odell and the KDU President Sara Skyttedal.
SD’s press officer Henrik Vinge confirm the information. He says that “there were a number of people in different ways signaled that they are closer to SD than they do the other parties on issues that are central to the SD.”
Since the Sweden Democrats are a party that is growing very quickly We can benefit by linking up with talented and skilled politician, he says to the newspaper.
Vinge would not comment on whether it was contact with people. Skyttedal says she does not understand why she was on the list, Odell that SD is the party which stands furthest from his own values.
Busch Thor has, through his press secretary declined to answer, the newspaper reported.
