Million Damages for journal intrusion – Metro

A former employee at a hospital in Gothenburg sentenced to probation and about 1.5 million in damages for having secretly read records with sensitive data on 375 children treated for cancer.

The man worked at an adult section but took into the medical records of children. Incursions in the records lasted four years before they were discovered, writes Borås Tidning online. He has acknowledged and declared that everything began when their own children fell ill with cancer.

– My sole purpose was to manage my own anxiety, explained the man in the police interrogation.

The man, who earlier was guiltless, has been dismissed.
