A mysterious stomach illness has struck against villagers in southern Sweden.
The past two days, several hundred fell ill suddenly, probably from drinking water.
– It’s a little scary not knowing what caused it, says Magdalena Lundgren; 31.
Since Monday, a large number of people affected by gastroenteritis in villages Everöd, Eastern Sönnarslöv and Huaröd in northeast Skåne.
So far, Kristianstad municipality received more than 100 complaints from people affected by vomiting, diarrhea, fever and nausea.
Probably it However, many more who become ill. A Facebook group for residents of Everöd quickly came up in 170 people affected.

Urge residents to boil the water
The municipality suspect that the drinking water is the source of stomache and urges residents to boil water. It has also run out water jugs to the residents.
– We believe it is the water because there are so many who suffered in the same place, but we do not know for sure. We have taken samples, but test results will not come until Wednesday evening, says Inger Hansson.
Many must have fallen ill already last Monday, but the great wave of notifications came on Tuesday afternoon.

One of the victims is Magdalena Lundgren from Everöd. Both she and her two small daughters – 3.5 years, and 11 months old – has become sick.
– I’ve been feeling a little sick and had a headache all night, but my daughters have vomited and dimensions inferior , she says.
During the afternoon, she visited two grannpar, who also suffered a stomach bug.
– It is strange that in principle the entire village has suffered. It is a bit scary and hard not to know what it depends on, says Magdalena Lundgren.
