The Lithuanian brothers suspected of murdering 17-year-old Lisa Holm would be released. The men’s lawyers have been instructed to appeal against the arrests on Thursday.
The brothers, 31 and 35 years old, was arrested on probable cause suspected of murdering Lisa Holm from Skovde Tuesday of Skaraborg District Court. On Wednesday it became clear that the younger brother will appeal the detention decision through his lawyer Thomas Herb.
The 35-year-old lawyer, Inger Rönnbäck believes that although her client should be released.
– We will appeal against the arrest today, she says.
Both brothers deny the allegations.
– We do not think that’s probable cause, and the basis is that he denies the crime and believes the innocent, says Inger Rönnbäck.
The contested detention decisions will be taken up by the Court of Appeal, which usually makes a decision without a hearing based on the file.
– There is usually done within a few days, says Inger Rönnbäck.
Skaraborg District Court remand even a 34-year-old woman, married with the older man, of involvement in the assassination. She is reasonably suspected of serious protection of the criminal. Because she is in custody for the lower degree of suspicion comes warrant only one week.
– My client is detained on suspicion weaker basis, on reasonable suspicion. The prosecutor must later on Tuesday to request an extension of detention. The Court of Appeal does not have time to decide on an appeal before then. Therefore, an appeal now does not make sense, we are awaiting the prosecutor’s decision on Tuesday, says Peter Falck, the woman’s attorney.
The woman still denies the crime, according to Falck.
