Two injured in explosion – Swedish Radio

Two people were injured by flying glass when a powerful explosion on Rasmus in Malmö at half three o’clock the night of Friday.

It was a paperboy and a passing man who was hit by flying glass. The passerby was taken to hospital, but none of them got as far as we know, no serious damage.

– But the day when someone is injured seriously at such a blast coming, says the Skåne police Stephan Söderholm. It is only a matter of time.

The explosion in the night is just one in a series of similar events in Malmö in recent years. But injuries are very rare.

– It is something that has blown up between a property and a car that was parked, told Peter Martinsson, regional duty officer in the south of Sweden.

Blast wave also caused damage to a gate and a car.

The explosion occurred at halvtretiden, half an hour earlier it had been disorderly in the street.

– We know not what fraction has been about but one can well put it in context, says Peter Martinsson.

During the Friday morning was the police techniques in place, and they also picked out the glass residues. The police will also continue door knocking in the area to try to find witnesses to the bombing.
