Airbnb rent for brothels – Västerbotten Courier

It has become common for apartments that are rented out on short term contracts, through sites like Airbnb, used brothels, writes Dagens Nyheter.

– I appreciate that it is a normal day in Stockholm County there are about 200 addresses where there is prostitution. Most of these sites are second-hand apartments, says Simon Häggström, forecaster at the Stockholm police prostitution team, told the newspaper.

Previously, it was common that prostitution was on the hotel, but for cooperation between the police and the hotels, this has now declined. Instead, operations are conducted in apartments that are rented out for two or three weeks through secondary agencies that Airbnb. Most often it is neighbors who begin to suspect that there is something suspicious and react.

– People are naive. They should think of some more who they rent out to second, says Simon Häggström.
