The one who did not notice when the season broke loose excused. For it crashed and never really loose.
– It’s like sneaking started early, before Christmas, says Agneta Ekebom, pollen biologist at the Natural History Museum, said.
First out were hazel. the measurements have not been running so long, but hazel pollen has been noted in the air for several months.
– in southern Sweden, we have seen the flowering hazel. They go up to the Gävle area, says Agneta Ekebom.
And hazel pollen interferes not only hazelnut allergy sufferers.
– There tend to be people with allergies that are specifically sensitive to the right Hazel, who are not aware of birch and such. But then there are also birch allergies that can be triggered, for the hazel resembles to some extent birch.
The trend seems to be that it becomes more common with early pollen starts, says Agneta Ekebom, but something normal state is it not. It depends on how mild winters.
But if it turns out bad can allergy sufferers encounter pollen seasons that lasts almost all year.
– It could be grass pollen and pollen from the late-flowering species until the frost comes. On a mild autumn it can be up to October, November.
