Criticism of SAPO registration – Västerbotten Courier

The Security Police (SAPO) is criticized for how people registered in their intelligence records. Sapo uses very unusual crime of unlawful military activity, writes Dagens Nyheter.

– If the Security Service uses this breach as grounds for registering people in intelligence, it becomes practically Security Service that decides contents of this crime, what it consists of. We think that is a danger, says Sigurd Heuman, chairman of the Security and Integrity (SIN), told the newspaper.

To the rubric used discovered last year when the SIN examined how Sapo registered children. Heuman says that the crime has been criticized because it is obsolete.

– I do not think that there are more than three judgments relating to the crime of unlawful military activity and that is very little.

SIN writes in a statement to the government that it is time to revise the law.
