Couple stuck in marsh – can not get loose – Expressen

A young couple was rescued on Wednesday from a swamp drama outside Vanersborg.

The young people were lost in just over an hour in the pitch-black darkness.

– it looks to be in the middle of nowhere, told Peter Adlersson, police spokesperson during the rescue operation.

– There were two fire trucks and an ambulance. The cars had both blue lights and sirens on. It’s pitch black out here, says the woman.



Difficult terrain

She says that there is much swamps in the area and the terrain is difficult to master.

– There are the paths and other things, but you are out there now it’s not funny. There are several swamps and woods are dense. This does not feel good, the woman told me.

According to the emergency services so went the young people lost in the wetlands near the mountain Hunneberg outside Vanersborg.

– The darkness and the cold makes them insecure, told emergency services during the operation.

– We managed to get an approximate position on them and were out in the woods with quite a lot of people shouting and shone flashlights, said incident commander Peter Grönros.

When the young people were found, they were wet but safe and sound.

– they alerted after ourselves. They had taken a walk up the mountain which is available here. For some reason they have come away from the path and ended up in the woods. It was a little wet out there and it felt obviously uncomfortable when they could not get out of there.

The young people were examined by paramedics at the scene.

– I understand they were safe and sound, but I do not know if they were running to the hospital for control or not, says Grönros.
