A soldier shot himself in the leg during an exercise on Väddö firing range outside Norrtälje, reports local media.
– A of the soldiers happened to have one bullet left in the race on his gun. In connection with the weapons care was fired on by mistake and he hit himself in the thigh, said Magnus Persson at Norrtälje police to P4 Uppland.
The soldier was transferred by ambulance to hospital after the accident, which occurred late on Wednesday afternoon. He is not to be seriously hurt.
