Weather Alert: Very strong winds in the county – Swedish Radio

A winter storm is getting closer and SMHI has issued warnings for the entire country. In California it’s about class 1 warnings.

This evening is expected to strong winds in California and SMHI has issued a Class 1 warning. It’s about winds of 21-24 meters per second and villages will be westerly or southwesterly.

Class 1 warning means that there are certain risks to the public and during strong winds, the risk of branches and trees are harvested and that high vehicles may be problems.

The storm may also cause problems in train during the evening. The Swedish Transport Administration has chosen to set

the traffic on the tracks where there is a risk that the tree falls across the tracks.

From nine o’clock in the evening until twelve o’clock tomorrow morning will train services, according to Transport Administration, on several sections in the county to be set. This applies to traffic between Halmstad and Värnamo, Värnamo and Nässjö, Jönköping and Vaggeryd, Nässjö and Vetlanda and Nässjö and Oskarshamn.

For the neighboring counties of Halland and Kronoberg waiting even harder winds. There warns SMHI for squalls and a class 2 warning is issued.
