Series of armed robberies in Malmo – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Masked and armed men are the common denominator in three robberies and attempted robberies in Malmö on Tuesday evening. “Obviously, we look at the connections between events,” says Stephan Söderholm, information officer at Skåne police.

Shortly before 21 o’clock subjected a person for an attempted robbery at Vendelsfrid Street, between new and old stadium, in Malmö.

The man was threatened with a knife, but sat resisted and screamed.

The robbers left the place without getting anything with it.

Earlier in the evening, around 19 o’clock, came the alarm that a male taxi driver robbed at gunpoint on Annelundsgatan in Malmö.

Two people with masks should have done the robbery and tried to force himself to money from the driver. One of the robbers had, according to the victim a gun there.

– The driver was hit in the face. According to the paramedics, he has a broken nose, says Stephan Söderholm, information officer at Skåne police.

The robbers will then running to have left the place. They had no cash with him and the incident is classified at present as muggings. Several police patrols searched during the evening on the spot.

At 17:30 o’clock robbed two men at 18 years of age on wallets and mobiles at Bellevue Stadium.

The men say like the taxi driver being threatened by two other men, who had a mask for the face and who bore gun.

After the robbery disappeared the alleged perpetrators in the direction of Kroksbäck.

– Of course, we look at the connections between events and see if you can connect them together, says Stephan Söderholm.

– It has in all cases been about young robbers, and there are similarities in the description. Several robberies have also occurred quite close to each other.

Police searched the evening after the perpetrators and hope to get more testimonies and observations.

– We have nothing specific that right now can lead to a prison sentence.
