A major fire raged on Christmas Day in a mosque in Eskilstuna.
Police suspect aggravated arson – and witnesses tell how someone thrown into an object into the room.
– The fire came very quickly. Someone shouted “it burns, it burns.” People panicked and started running out, says a witness.
The alarm came in to police at 13:18.
A fire had broken out in a mosque in the local area Nyfors in Eskilstuna.
The fire was in the afternoon fully developed and a large räddningspådrag called to the scene.

According to witnesses who were inside the mosque had about 50 people gathered to pray during Christmas day afternoon when a window was smashed.

Apartment in the current stairwell has been vacated because of the strong smoke emissions and accommodation has been transferred to a nearby youth center, according to police.

At 15: 30 pm notifies the police that the fire is under control.
Several squads are still in place in the area.
– They knock door. We can not go in and do a forensic examination today but have to let the fire area to cool. It comes technician to the site tomorrow, says Franzell.
