Although the final days of the year remains can now SMHI stating that 2014 will be a record warm.
Sweden average will not be able to drop so much. It is also moving toward milder weather during the final days in December, says Sverker Hellström, climatologist and meteorologist at SMHI.
The mean annual looks to be between 6.85 and 6.90 degrees, compared with the previous record at 6.73 from 1934. In a typical year, the country has a temperature of about 4.7 degrees.
According to Sverker Hellström, it has been getting longer periods of prolonged cold weather during 2014.
But the very hot July months, especially in western Norrland, one might describe as the year’s most interesting weather months. It was then followed by the big forest fire, which in itself was not caused by weather, but it occurred under very severe heat and drought, he said.
Sweden follow Europe, whose average annual temperature in mid-December looked to be the continent’s warmest for several hundred years.
Many countries in Europe will get it this year as its warmest, says Sverker Hellström.
