Groping teacher loses papers – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Groping teacher loses papers – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

The teacher has worked at five schools in different municipalities in Skåne over the course of ten years. All positions have been closed following reports that the teacher must have groped students.

When suspicions have been discovered, schools bought out the man. Following an agreement with the first of the five schools he resigned for severance pay of 64 000 SEK. Overall, the man has received nearly a million in severance pay of the different schools.

The man also reported to the police a number of times, but preliminary investigations have been discontinued.

Despite the repeated accusations he has thus repeatedly found jobs as teachers. It was not until the Schools Inspectorate launched an investigation against him last year, after getting a report of sexual harassment by a parent, as the earlier incidents came to light.

The extensive investigation was handed over to the Teachers’ Disciplinary recommendation to withdraw the man’s teacher certification. And now, the Board decided to go on Schools Inspectorate line.

– It was very much material on the subject and the teacher had very many complaints against the investigation material. Some of the remarks were quite legitimate, but in the end we came to the conclusion that there was still so much so that it tipped over, says Lars Dirke, president of the Teachers’, to SvD.

He thinks it is noteworthy that schools do not seem to have noticed those past events.

– You can request that the recruitment process more seamless. Here it is a whole series of such incidents, says Lars Dirke.

This is the second time since the teacher Papers were introduced by the board decides to revoke a license. And few issues are so serious that they reach Teachers’, that is only treated just under ten cases.

– In the case of crime must be serious crime. Otherwise, that it is particularly inappropriate to work as a teacher. That is what was in issue in the second case. It acts as a kind of safety valve; that there must be a system where, in very severe cases can take back a teacher certification.
