A man has suffered serious burns after an explosion in an oven, in a house in Sundsvall.
He has been taken to hospital.
– A is significantly burns of the hands, chest and face, says senior engineer Martin Södervall by the police in Västernorrland.
The alarm came in at 22:09 and was about a fire in a villa in Bredsand, just outside Sundsvall. On-site emergency services could conclude that a fire started in the basement of the house, after an insert stove exploded.
– It is down to the rec room like this has happened. The owner tried to extinguish itself and also managed that, but you have also got pretty heavy burns of the hands, says Lars Dolk, internal officers of civil protection in Medelpad.
The man had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The fire in the house were not so serious, thanks to man’s effort, and the other residents of the house can stay. Rescue Service has deployed fans in the house to sniff out the smell of smoke.
