Criticism: “Löfven lack jobs policy” – Swedish Dagbladet

The Social Democrats are launching , a national collection for the “young people outside,” announced Löfven during a press briefing ahead of his May Day speech in Sundsvall.

– Young people should work, study or train. They should not get caught up in long-term unemployment. No young person should have to start their lives in that way, says Stefan Löfven.

The national collection for young, 19-24 years, consists of three parts. It means, among other things, to improve statistical data about the group. More outreach efforts will be made to gain knowledge about their situation. We also need increased efforts to prevent young people dropping out of school.

A national coordinator should be appointed to coordinate efforts for young people who neither work nor study.

“This is the group that might have been the very toughest,” says Löfven if they can be described as NEET (Not in Education, Empoyment or Training).

The young people who have the toughest, is a “relatively unknown group but still quite large” according Löfven. It is, according to him for 86 500 young people who neither work nor study, citing data from Statistics Sweden.

– It took Löfven over 200 days to realize that he has no job policies. Now he will hire a coordinator to come to politics for him instead, says Elisabeth Svantesson, labor market policy spokesperson for the Conservatives.

She continues:

– Alliance did a survey of young people without jobs and education already in 2013. Now Löfven restart the work and during the time he makes it more expensive for young people to get their first job. It is absolutely the wrong way to go.

Fredrik Christensson (C), spokesperson for youth job is critical to the “national collection” contains few concrete proposals.

– It feels thin to just do a review of this group as the Centre Party talked about a long time. It is not enough just to gather more knowledge about the group, when there are concrete proposals already. The Centre Party believes in a different employment model that distinguishes official mission and matching his duties and a job to fix the money that encourages employment officer.

Marco Vengas, labor market policy spokesperson for MP is in favor of this group identifies more closely and that outreach is a priority.

He is backed by ali esbati, spokesperson of the Rules of questions for the Left.

– To reach the group so it can focus on better methods at the Employment Service and a better collaboration between agencies. Are examples of municipalities that worked outreach, where we can learn from their work, says ali esbati (V).

SvD have searched even the Liberal Party, the Sweden Democrats and the Christian Democrats.
