Löfven hired builders – without a collective agreement – Aftonbladet

Stefan Löfven (S) requires that collective agreements should apply to all on the Swedish labor market.

But for the renovation of his own house, he hired a company without a collective agreement.

– It was a mistake on my part, says Stefan Löfven.

Aftonbladet can now reveal that Stefan Löfven let a company without a collective agreement to perform reconstruction of his home in Ornskoldsvik.

Stefan Löfven own recreational house with his wife. Last fall, the municipality granted them planning permission to convert a carport into a habitable house.

– The company is not affiliated with us. Had they had collective agreements had been connected here, said an employee at the Union Building up the center.

The construction company had, according to the Swedish Tax three employees last year. The owner admits that he does not have a collective agreement. He denies, however initially he performed work at the summer house.

Since changes his mind and says:

– In a way, yes. Yes, I can say it.

When Aftonbladet confronts Stefan Löfven with the task, he says he does not comment on matters relating to the construction of his house.

– I can only say it, when we ask for those that do job so we want to know that they have a collective agreement. Needless to say, he says.

Later, he writes in a text message to Aftonbladet that he hired construction firm in the belief that it was a self-employed:

“Then I thought I hire a self-employed without employees so asked not about collective agreements. I should have done. I asked several control questions because I wanted everything to go right, but I should have also raised the question of collective agreements in case that the company would need to hire or bring in subcontractors. It was a mistake on my part. “



Fighters hard

The Union Building struggling hard with companies having a contractual forms of employment – even when it comes to smaller companies. Almost everything related to employment are regulated in the collective agreement, says Roger Johansson, head of the Construction Association agreements device.

What can you as an individual do to check whether a company has a collective agreement?
