Prank Calls problems for SOS Alarm – Helsingborgs Dagblad

Another big problems Riksrevisionen see is the difficulty for the emergency to find out to people in need. The reason is that many municipalities lack adequate records of addresses both to homes and other buildings. Approximately missing addresses to 80 000 homes.

– It is unacceptable, says Auditor General Claes Norgren.

So far, is it is voluntary for municipalities to have updated and complete address, but again this is something that Anders Ygeman be willing to change.

– It is quite obvious that this should work, and do not need we take relevant measures. This has not been done enough.

June 1 before the two counties – Uppsala and Västmanland – own call centers. It means that alarm calls are forwarded there from SOS Alarm, and that it is the county council itself decides whether an ambulance should be sent.

Previous experience shows, according to the National Audit Office that this extra step can make the bet slip, and calls an agency with oversight responsibility. But according Ygeman will such an authority is not required, because the government shortly to appoint a commission to impose exclusivity on emergency calls.

– I think that is a better way to go. We want those who are in distress and calls to the emergency services should only need to pull their story once. Do you have an alarm chain with several different players, you risk pulling the same one, two or even three times. It is a negative development.
