Last year’s May 1st was marked by Nazi Swedes’ Party demonstration in Jönköping that caused one of Swedish history’s largest police operations. To prevent a replay booked the moderate MP Mats Green with Jönköpingsposten hometown all public places.

– Unfortunately, it becomes easy that a municipality can be associated with such events. We certainly do not want to have here Nazis and then I thought about how we could avoid it, says Mats Green.

He emphasizes his party affiliation and that he did not demonstrate on May Day, but he thinks that the labor movement today is still worthy of attention. His idea, that of an event while also struck Jönköpings-Posten, was drastic.

Mats Green is on the same track:

– Party of the Swedes said last year that they did not feel welcome and it was the course not.
