Foreign tourists increases in the mountains – Swedish Dagbladet

Almost 150,000 foreign hikers, cyclists and runners are expected to visit the mountains in summer. It counts three of the four mountain destinations and mountain stations, according Scales Security survey.

The Council now want to reach out with information to tourists to make their stay safe and secure.

– We must become even better at providing this information in English. We have generally been poor in Sweden, says Per-Olov Wikberg, coordinator at the Mountain Safety Council.

In order to prevent accidents in the mountains spreads local mountain safety committees, information leaflets in English. Information in English will also be at each shelters along the trails.
