Rare beetle is released into the open air – Vasterbotten Courier

It is so endangered that it is only in one place in Sweden. But after a successful bet on the breeding is ekbocken, a smaller relative of the stag beetle, now ready to get the chance in the wild, writes Sydöstran.

Ekbocken considered a key species and need a lot of old oaks to survive. The new ekbockarna must first be put on Öland Hallorps Carthage, where the only wild ekbockar there, and hopefully on the mainland within a few years.
