More could have narcolepsy compensation – Dagens Medicin

Previously, the limit for when you had to have exhibited symptoms of the disease for eight months. Last winter, increased the limit to 16 months after criticism from Narcolepsy Association, which held that eight months was too short a time.

But the line can be moved further, a study shows that the MPA is doing and planned to be finished in December. It reports SR echo.

– We set the limit at 16 months now since we wanted to give a quick answer. That we are sure that we will not have to short, but it can be renewed once we get more facts, says Anders Hultman, Vice President of Pharmaceutical insurance, to echo.

Since the border was moved 40 people , just over half of those previously was denied by reason of so-called “late onset of symptoms,” now had the right to compensation.

In Sweden, more than 400 people, mostly children and young people have applied for compensation for having got narcolepsy after vaccination against swine flu.
