Drönarförare liable for damages – Metro

State airport company Swedavia considering to claim damages from those who fly drones in protected airspace. So far this year have been 15 incidents involving the radio-controlled airplane craft registered several times with the consequence that the airport had to close, reports dn.se.

It quickly becomes significant costs when an airport was forced to close – and drönarförare flying in protected airspace may have to bear the costs.

– We see major risks of progress safely. If any folds so there is the possibility to claim damages. It’s not completely unrealistic that it would be so, says Ulf Wallin, Press Officer at Swedavia.

Both Arlanda Bromma has temporarily been closed since drones have been in airspace.

– The can be extremely severe consequences if there should be something with them in the air, says Ulf Wallin.
