The court about the campaign: It’s about libel – Expressen

Västtrafiks advertise their sightseeing app by typing “see where the king was unfaithful.” The court first called the campaign “a very strange text” and to their legal representative speaking about the whole has recommended the company to simply delete the campaign.

– It is contrary to Swedish law, said the court’s Communications Margareta Thorgren .

Among other things, mean that it is about slander.

GT wrote earlier on Wednesday on Västtrafiks campaign to market their sightseeing app by typing “see where the king was unfaithful” on advertising posters. Omitting information that it is about Oscar II, and not the current king.

– Generally, in this type of events, we have legal advisors who look at it and decide whether it should be taken measures, said the court Communications Margareta Thorgren once called the whole thing “a very strange text.”

Is about libel

Now, the legal advisors reviewed the matter and concluded that Västtrafik violated the law.

– There are both slander and offense against the name and image for advertising, says the court’s Communications Margareta Thorgren.

Now the question of Västtrafik she says.

– We have given the proposal that the company should remove the campaign because it is contrary to Swedish law. Moreover, it is inappropriate in that it caused strong negative reactions, says Margareta Thorgren.

Västtrafik to have meeting

Kristian Lans is press officer at Västtrafik and said earlier that the idea behind the poster is to bring interest in the app that will tell you about history of Gothenburg and interesting places in the city. Now Västtrafik put themselves in the meeting about the campaign.

– We will meet tomorrow morning and discuss it all after the court heard from, something more I can not tell, he says

What do you think you will do?

– I can not speculate on that, but we’ll sit down tomorrow and talk about this so we can come up with an answer says Kristian Lans.

Was this expected?

– No, we had not expected us because it is about Oscar II.
