Fewer asylum seekers in Sweden – Hufvudstadsbladet

Migration Board in Sweden estimates that the number of asylum seekers will be fewer this year than previously thought.
However attributed forecast for unaccompanied children up to 12 000th

The forecast came on Thursday, writes the Swedish Migration Board that the upward trend in the number of asylum seekers is now broken.

Sweden are expected in the main scenario accommodate 74 000 asylum seekers this year, compared with the previous estimate of 80 000.
reasons are many.

– It has become a wider distribution of asylum reception in the EU, it has become more difficult for asylum seekers to head north in the EU and the image of Sweden as a recipient country has changed, says the Migration Board’s Director General Anders Danielsson said.

Long processing times and difficulties in getting jobs and housing has primarily been the group of asylum seekers from Syria to seek work in other countries.

The unaccompanied children are expected to be more than the previous forecast of 8000 because, according to Danielsson, there are significantly more asylum seekers and unaccompanied children in the EU as a whole.

Sweden’s share of unaccompanied children is as great as before.
