Protected orchids stolen – Swedish Radio

More than 40 protected orchids have been dug up at Lyngsjön outside Kristianstad. The rare flowers can then be resold in Europe, it writes Kristianstadsbladet.

The Orchid Thefts are common to both Öland and the Mediterranean. And now suspect that even Kristianstad may have been affected.

To dig up wild orchids is a crime against the species protection regulation and fridlysningsbestämmelser.
