No national track of summer care – Swedish Dagbladet

– The problems of accessibility and the right staffing are the same from year to year, there is nothing new. Therefore, we do not have any inspection on its own this summer. We concentrate on supervision after notification, says Anders Kandelin, Communications at IVO.

He does not see this as a sign of resignation.

– The aim is to find faults that can be corrected and knowledge of health care benefits from, he said.

To care breaks down in the summer is not something that IVO can do something about, he explains. It’s caregivers are responsible. However, it is important to IVO receive notifications of patient safety is threatened.

Health Minister Gabriel Wikström (S) explains that the government is trying to reduce sköterskebristen by investing in more education, but it is the county councils are responsible for health care. There are also talks with the councils, where they will explain how health care crisis will be met.

– The government gave just last week a mission to the IVO to nationally coordinate the complaints in health care to better measure and compare the quality of care, said Gabriel Wikström in an email response to TT.
