Terror Suspects sought custody – Göteborgs-Posten

detention hearings will be held on Friday afternoon against the two men arrested on suspicion of terrorist offenses in Syria.

The clock 13 is the first of the men facing arrest the judge in one of Gothenburg’s district court security labs.

The first hearing held against the 32-year-old man, who has a lawyer Lars Salkola as his defender. Salkola was at the long police interrogations held by 32-year-old Thursday morning.

– There were some complications to conduct the hearing. My client is in a wheelchair and has some difficulty speaking.

Why he sits in a wheelchair?

– I have not asked that question to him. It will surely come, says Salkola.

The 32-year-old “deny flatly” crimes.

– He has no knowledge of the material exhibited him. And he says that he has not been in Syria for the time specified as brottstid, says lawyer Salkola.

A good hour later, at 14.15, the procedure is repeated with the next one.

Another hour later held a third detention hearing.

One of detention negotiations takes place against a yet to be arrested man, 26 years old. He claimed custody in absentia, a procedure commonly used to facilitate the international search.

This man arrest is sought for complicity to commit terrorist offenses, committed in an unknown location in Syria during April-July 2013. It is the same alleged brottstid specified for the two arrested men, 30 and 32 years old.

Prosecutor Ronnie Jacobsson at the National Unit for safety in a letter to the District Court of Gothenburg have requested separate security at the detention negotiations.

The man requested in custody in absentia convicted once before. Gothenburg District Court felled him three years ago for vandalism and sentenced him to fines.
