Shootings in Gothenburg – Aftonbladet

A man has been shot injured in a shooting in Gothenburg district of Old town, according to witness statements to police.

– witnesses heard several shots, says Christer Fuxborg, police spokesman in the West Götaland.

Several shots have been fired in the neighborhood of the Old City by ten o’clock, as reported by several eyewitnesses submitted to the police. The police were alerted about the shots at 9:58 on Wednesday morning and has sent “significant resources” to the site.

– A person is deasserted by ambulance to Sahlgrenska Hospital, confirms Christer Fuxborg, press spokesman, told Aftonbladet at 10.45 am.

Damage State of the shot, however, is as yet unclear, said he.

– Several witnesses have reported figures on the number of shots fired so it is difficult to say definitely.

Christer Fuxborg points out that many details so far are based on witness reports that police consulted in emergency calls.

But it is established that the offender has been seen leaving the site on a moped , in the direction of Old Town Square.

There is a shop near the site of the shooting and it can, according to the police to be a reason that many eyewitnesses have been able to raise the alarm about the event.

A person Aftonbladet talked to says that the shots wounded a man in his 20s, and he has been hit by several shots.

– He ran into a store and hid . He was atleast shot in the chest and hip, said the witness.

Shot to have fired into the store where the man fled. The information has not been confirmed by police.

– They shot him. Then ran two off with a motorcycle or a moped, said the witness.
