Secret care projects used to hunt Cheater – Swedish Radio

Region Skåne has hired a private health care companies to secretly observe people with disabilities when they are hospitalized. One of the objectives is to expose people are lying or exaggerating their disabilities, writes Sydsvenskan.

The Social Insurance Agency will select who should be investigated, one reason may be that the Medical evidence is insufficient, another may be to suspect that the person simulates.

The so-called Hässleholm experiment aimed at young adults with activity and people with complex illness that applied for assistance allowance.

During the hospital stay, the persons insurance agency selected to meet various specialists occupational therapist, physical therapist, physician, and psychologist, but during the investigation observed also by non qualified personnel.

Anyone who does not participate in the investigation likely to have their compensation reduced or retracted.

Responsible for the project told the newspaper that the aim is to get as complete and independent investigation as possible. Operations have not been contracted, nor tried by the Ethics Committee.
