No trace of the missing aircraft – Göteborgs-Posten

A plane with two Lithuanians took off from Kattleberg Airport in Älvängen, north of Gothenburg on Saturday. Two hours later, the plane disappeared without a trace – and it was even during Sunday evening not been found.

The clock 13:12 yesterday lifted the Russian plane, an Antonov An-2 from the airfield north of Älvängen.

– The clock 15:16, they have a contact, then everything is fine and they have 40 minutes left to destination. Then no one heard anything. The plane was nyservat and the pilots have 15,000 hours flying the type of aircraft, the two fly as gods and are professionals among pros, says Kjell Brattfors which operates the airfield.

The plane was bought a year ago and have over the past year been in Denmark.

It would be used as a spray plane, and on Saturday it was time to fly home and on the way stopover Lithuanians in Älvängen for a snack.

– I’m familiar with both and their families so it feels incredibly tragic, he says.

The plane would have the country at 16 o’clock on the afternoon of Klaipeda.

Sweden lined up by plane and helicopter in a rescue. On Sunday afternoon took MRCC Klaipeda alone over the search.

– We do know that they are in the Baltic Sea somewhere off the Lithuanian coast. There are so many different scenarios that time, there is no point in speculating, says Kjell Brattfors.

The last known position is more than sjutton mil from Oland, about twelve mil from Lithuanian coast.

The Swedish maritime SAR had during Sunday evening still not heard anything from his Lithuanian counterpart to suggest a breakthrough in the search.
