A man is life-threatening injured after a sharp house fire in Vasteras.
Rescue fears that a woman is left in the villa and beyond rescue.
– Because of the risk of subsidence, we can not go in there, says Ola Casimir, internal officers at the emergency services.
Just before 22 o’clock on Friday night were the emergency services to the the light villa in the area Lustig ball in Vasteras.
– It is a storey villa that is fully in flames, threatening neighboring properties, said Ola Kasimir half an hour after the alarm.
A large number of fire teams participated in the rescue – and fire fighting.
A man was rescued from the villa and taken to hospital by ambulance. He was transferred during the night to burn department at Uppsala University Hospital for further treatment.
– His injuries are assessed as life-threatening, said Marie Source Brink, head nurse in the emergency department of Västmanland hospitals to VLT.
“We suspect that there is one person left”
The hope of being able to save more from the villa is small. Emergency services fear that a person is still there, but because of the collapse hazard, nothing could rescue attempt be made.
– We suspect that there is someone still in there, but because of the collapse hazard, we have no opportunity to go in there says Ola Kasimir.
Victoria Holmgren, spokesperson for police in Västmanland, confirms that a person is still missing.
– A woman is still missing, that’s all we know at present, says she said.
At 01 o’clock raging fire is still in full swing and police cordons around the scene of the fire remained.
– The fire is under control and the contagion risk is small but the firemen will probably be left whole night, says Victoria Holmgren.
launched a preliminary investigation for arson
During the evening, police launched an investigation into arson. However, it has no theories about what may have caused the fire.
– There must be a later issue. It will certainly take a few days before you can move into the villa and make a technical study, says Victoria Holmgren.
The relatives of the injured man and the missing woman has been informed of the circumstances.
