Close to 13 million Swedes in 2060 – Sydsvenskan

Last year, average life expectancy is 84 years for women and 80 years for men. 2060 is expected to be 89 and 87 years. Last year there were 499 000 Swedes who were older than 80 years. 2060 figure is expected to rise to 1.2 million.

Of the girls born in 2015 estimated half life of at least 94 years of age. Boys are expected to corresponding age being 92 years.

Women are expected to average get about as many children in the future as today. However, it is assumed to be more women of childbearing age, which means that every year during the forecast period will be born more children than today.
