Clothing should be saved for recovery – Aftonbladet

Stockholm. Recycling Bins for clothes and textiles, just as there are for cardboard and plastic, can become a reality. On Thursday, the government will decide that it is easier to recycle clothes. The government gives the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate how such a collection should look like. The investigation must be completed by 1 December 2015.

– The consumption of textiles has increased by 40 per cent and very much not recycled but goes straight into the system and burned, says Environment Minister Lena Ek (C) to the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency buys every Swedish 12.5 kg annually and clothing of those subjected to since around eight kilograms of garbage.
