Warning of high winds – Swedish Dagbladet

– We have a low pressure from the Norwegian Sea to cross the northern Scandinavia during the day. When it gets to the increasing winds from midday and in the afternoon, says Lovisa Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.

The strong winds have already created a messy situation on the roads in Östergötland.

– It has breathed heavily in the night and is still blowing. We get calls about fallen trees blocking roads. A number of signs have also blown over and landed on the road, says Lars-Göran Nilseryd, duty officer at the police in Östergötland.

At lunchtime there no reports of injuries or damage to property . But police warn road users of unexpected obstacles on the roads.

– If you go on the small and curvy roads should be extra vigilant, it can be trees over the road around the next bend.

According to police länskommunikationscentral is Transport Authority heavily burdened by the weather.

– My impression is that it is more widespread problem than what we get in and it will take time to fix, says Lars-Göran Nilseryd.

SMHI has issued a Class 1 warning for very strong gusts of up to 24 meters per second in Norrland. In the mountains, it looks that come rain or wet snow, and it warned of poor visibility. Although coastal and Vänern, it becomes windy.

– On most waters are gale warnings issued for the day, says Lovisa Andersson.

The winds are expected to subside in the evening, but in the Gulf of Bothnia, it delayed until late in the night.
