Widars leaders Survives government budget voting in December so can Löfvens one become a successful government in collaboration with the reform-minded liberals and conservatives address the large and awkward questions.
It was a hard and tough meeting for the Social Democratic MPs. During more than eight hours tossing and turning on the arguments for and against collaboration with progressive liberals. I read about the meeting in Olle Sven wizard’s new book “The Governor”; a biography of Hjalmar Branting. (The book is reviewed on Folkbladet¸ culture pages October 7)
At the meeting that took place nearly a century ago won Hjalmar Branting line; social democracy would undertake a socio-bearing missions and therefore continue to interact as responsible reformists. So it was of course also on the whole. The 1920s were a mess in many ways. Strikes and other labor conflicts were cats and dogs in Sweden. Much of Europe was plagued by poverty and social unrest after the First World War. While democracy and suffrage fought his way into the West beat the Communists in Russia into a dictatorship.
Also in our days sitting Socialists in long meetings and discuss how they should relate to the socio-bearing mission in politics. Policy as such seems about as messy as this on the eve of the 2020s as what it was a hundred years ago. With well that being said, it is important to emphasize that the political controversies and conflicts today is more of internal industry character than expressions of violent social tensions in society.
What we see is how the “normal and decent” parties agonize over relationships with the growing and “nasty” party. It is this relationship question that risk provoke a government crisis here what it suffers. The problems also depends on just over a quarter of a century block thinking. It is obviously too much to ask that the parties in a single blow to free themselves from both block structures and touching singing star versus SD. Therefore, it becomes a nervous kattrakande autumn.
If less than two weeks, we have apparently an S-MP government in place. Survives the fragile government budget voting in December so can Löfvens one become a strong and successful government. A government that works together with reform-minded liberals and conservatives tackles several of major contemporary and difficult questions without worrying about your what Åkessons company does and does not do. And without hanging up much on each syllable in the election program which now fills recycling containers around the country. Voters judgment is clear. The voters are happy with everything. The only thing that stands out is dissatisfaction with immigration and integration. Which certainly is a community area where Löfvens one should expect many harsh and strenuous meetings.
