I record many municipalities lack the political majority after the election. Block Overrun collaborations are planned in many places – in Straengnaes Social Democrats and the Moderates have reached an agreement.

– We see it as a way to take a shared responsibility. Our municipality has significant economic challenges as we sat and discussed with the Social Democrats in intelligent conversation, says incoming Councilor Jacob Högfeldt (M).

  As DN could tell on Saturday has local elections in 162 of the 290 municipalities landed in that no block has a majority. Therefore, waiting a period of unusually many unexpected alliances around the country.

 - We note that in our local programs and S are many similarities. At the municipal level, it’s about being pragmatic and look to what is best and safest for the residents in this situation, says Jacob Högfeldt.

 He and Monica Lindell Rylén (S) becomes Strängnäs main policy faces the upcoming term. The partnership, which was completed on Friday, launched a joint initiative when the election result was clear – M: 31.13 percent S: 24.26 percent, SD: 11.37 percent and the other five parliamentary parties’ local representatives between 4 and 6.5 percent.

  S has the last four years controlled municipality in coalition with C and FP. Now the municipal councils fewer, as the number of committees, but S and M in Straengnaes – whose two factions agree on cooperation – also agree on what issues are most important.

 - There is a sense of responsibility and an opportunity to create width and stability. We have a generally high level of indebtedness of the municipal group. The economy is one of the main tracks of the agreement, the other two are schools and elderly care, says Jacob Högfeldt.

 - We also have a large consensus on how to develop and streamline our municipal companies. We see no stumbling blocks with S in the current situation.
