Strong winds messed up in traffic – Swedish Dagbladet

A low pressure from the Norwegian Sea passed over northern Scandinavia on Saturday. SMHI issued several class 1 warning for very strong gusts of up to 24 meters per second in Norrland. It also warned of rain or wet snow and poor visibility in the mountains.

Just before lunchtime on Saturday got the rescue and vägoperatören NCC snatch out along the E45, where several fallen trees had settled over the road between Storuman and Wilhelmina.

On the Norwegian side of the border the weather also posed problems. Several roads in the mountain pass in the southern parts of the mountain was closed to traffic and the Norwegian police warned of difficult conditions. In northern Norway had several ferry lines to set up the traffic.

Also along the Swedish coast and on Lake Vänern freshened winds in sharply.

– On most waters are gale warnings issued for the day, says Lovisa Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI.

In Östergötland police took during the day received multiple alarms on trees that had fallen and blocked roads. The winds did not reach the warning level, but fierce gusts of up to 18 meters per second drug still brings a number of signs that disrupted traffic.
