Train accident south of Sundsvall – Swedish Radio

A passenger train has hit a dump truck at a road crossing at Ovansjö in Njurunda south of Sundsvall, close to the county boundary.

It would begin engineering works on the stretch, but the hauler drove up on the track too early, which led to the crash.

No persons have been injured in the accident.

The accident occurred at a road crossing at Bölesjön at Ovansjö south of Sundsvall. The train left the center in Sundsvall on the way to Stockholm just after 8 o’clock Half an hour later were the emergency services about the accident.

The train was the last train that would go on the route before the track would be closed for track work.

According to Lars Hedstrom on the Administration press office had hauler driven up the track too early and thus train ran into it.

Even earlier, it was decided that all rail traffic on this stretch would be replaced by buses due of engineering works, which then can lead to longer journey times.

According to emergency services, the tail of the hauler, a form of tractor trucks, which have been run over by the train and no individuals have been harmed neither the hauler or train. However, lokdelen the train derailed.

– Transport Administration will take over the crash site later, but we’ll check now so there really is no damage that we missed and eliminate risks, says internal officers of the emergency services.

The train started in Umeå 5:15 this morning and Stefan Dahl from Domsjö is one of the passengers on the train.

– It was just that the train slowed down very abruptly and then bang to jiggle and so it took stops, says Stefan Dahl.

– There is a dump truck that was hit and rear of the hauler is on its side.

What happens now, what have you got for information on the train

– Apparently the lokdelen derailed jiggle so they’ve decided that we’re going replacement buses to Stockholm. It is fortunate that there is a connecting road through, so it will be a good thing considering the bus bit, says Stefan Dahl.

– It’s okay, no danger at all.
