Budget Shocker may shed new government – Swedish Dagbladet

Budget Shocker may shed new government – Swedish Dagbladet

The Speaker fear that it becomes difficult to get a government that will survive the fall.

Speaker Per Westerberg (M) begins on Wednesday soundings with party representatives to elect a new government.

First up is The Social Democrats, then the other parliamentary parties.

When Fredrik Reinfeldt (M) has announced that he will step down as party leader becomes instead Anna Kinberg Batra, Moderates group leader in parliament, which meets the Chairman. She is one of those mentioned as a possible successor to Reinfeldt.

Probably designated S-leader Stefan Löfven to form government. But Löfvens government should not only survive a prime minister vote in October.

– The most difficult issue is to find a new government that can get through its budget in December, says Westerberg.

Therefore, the President also to question the party leaders how to adjust to a new government budget. Westerberg said at a press conference that the government formation is “complicated.”

A government with S and MP immediately comes to mind after Löfven ruled V. Such a government budget would have to have the support of 137 seats.

The problem for Löfven is that the Alliance will present a joint budget motion. It would be supported by 142 seats and thus win the SD and V abstains. It would probably mean that the government resign.

In order to avoid such a situation is expected Löfven negotiate with W of support for his budget. V-leader Jonas Sjöstedt has called “significant influence” over the budget and an agreement on how the gains in welfare should be stopped to vote in favor of the government’s budget.

But even if Sjöstedt and Löfven make up can trap SD budget by voting for the Alliance’s motion.

The same problem can also occur for other types of propositions from the government, although it does not necessarily mean that the government resign.

The S seems to be consensus it was the right of Löfven foreclosing Sjöstedt from the government.

– It’s about to get a government that can govern, says Christer Engelhardt, District of S Gotland.

the party leadership assessment is that a red-green government will try to work with C and FP. It is easier without V. It is hoped that the government will survive the first year and that the Alliance then to have fallen apart and the potential for partisan cooperation improved.

Liberal Party leader Jan Björklund do not think Löfvens tough handling Sjöstedt change anything .

– They will of course still need the Left Party’s support in parliament. Jonas Sjöstedt’s influence may now even be greater, he says.

If the government does not survive the fall, it is most likely that a government process starts, assesses political science professor Henrik Oscarsson. He does not believe in elections.

– It would cost a fortune to us in confidence in our stable political system – markets hate that.
